According to "A Night To Remember" a book about the Titanic, there were 2207 on board, 651 were saved and 1556 died.

Titanic Make: White Star Line Launched form: Liverpool, england launch date: Wednesday April 10 1912 *Persons aboard: 2,341 *persons died: 1635 *persons survived: 706 (711 made it to boats, 5 died in boats, so only 706 made it) length: 802 ft. 10in. sank: Monday April 15 1912 (sunday) 11:52mp-(monday) 2:20am time to sink: 2 hours cause of sinking: hit ice-burg on frontal right side, it left a130 ft. gash in side hull. lifeboats: 22 (4 collapsable) max capacity of lifeboats: 52 each average number actually in lifeboats: 15 lifeboats launched: 20 Funnels: 4 Propellers: 3 max speed: 33 knots average speed: 23 knots Captain: John E.
