Preferably online donations where the charity can claim back gift aid.

Please give your reasons (I.e. charity X because they help...)

Worthwhile Charities

Its a case of take your pick here in UK where there are hundreds of charities to choose from.

A lot of people give to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. It will soon lose its income from Peter Pan which comes off the royalties register I think in 2007.

One of the most popular charities is the Royal National Lifeboat Institute [RNLI] - they save about 21 lives per day around the coastal waters of UK. Blimey!

If you cannot think of one to give to, give each of six charities [first selections] a number 1 to 6, then throw a dice.

Finally, how about donating £30 to RED NOSE DAY or as one clown in Leicester Square said to me the other day, "hello - pick your own nose", while pointing at a huge box full of red noses.

there are quite a few charities I would say give to.

maybe macmillan nurses, because they do alot of work, and were there to help many people I know.

CHILDLINE - I think this is a good one, it's a freephone for any child that needs help, and they rely on donations

NSPCC - again helping those poor children.

GREAT ORMAND STREET - again a childrens hospital.

but whoever you choose will be very appreciative.

why not choose a local charity in your community ? give to a church or youth club or a local hospice or hospital.

SALVATION ARMY. this is the only charity that helps the home less by going out in the streets and handing out food and clothing to the people that need it, You never see the salvation's,brothers and sisters, in posh cars ,or in offices that its hard to reach, I feel that most Charity's are run to make some one rich and then thy help the children. I have done research into this and every one in voled has a cut, and the children , or cancer research, or save Africa, and so on get the rest

Buy your most favourite person in the world a £30 gift voucher. Charity begins at home and if you really have a need to give I'm sure they won't be unhappy to be on the receiving end.

As I am not trying to sell you anything I don't see that I need to justify anything to you.

If you really want to donate to a needy cause do your own research.

I would think the starving and homeless would be the most needy.

there is no correct answer to this. i can tell you who not too. anyone the national lottery donates to is not a good cause. they do those oprea house one etc which dont need money. you should donate to some thing that affects you or someone close. if someone you know has an illness donate to that. if you really dont know cancer research is always a good cause. too many people die and they are getting closer to curing various types. but choose something that will also help you and your close friends

£30 is not so significant that any national charity is going to be able to do anything special with it - of course they will appreciate it!
So why not choose a local one to you, or go out on the streets and help just one person - it may be the best thing you could ever do.
