Maximum $ i can take in Cash to India on my way back?

I am going to INDIA after two days and i need information regarding this.
please tell the exact information and no guess.

Maximum cash you can bring into India is $5000 or its equivalent. Any amount above this then you have to declare at customs upon arrival.

Also remember, if you’re an NRI (non-resident Indian) then you are not permitted to bring in or export any Indian rupees. The rupee is a closed currency and the import and export of it is prohibited.

if you have visa ,mastercard.or american express card.you need not to carry much cash.keep only 500 US$ with you , mail me for any assistance
