post scriptum (Latin)
Literally translated: after having been written
Commonly used back in the day when someone had finished a letter and needed to add something. Really surprised no one else knew this!

Post Script. When you are writing a letter it is easy to forget to add details of importance, so Post Script enables you to add information without having to Re - write the whole letter.

P.S. stands for post script. It used for a few notes after the main body of writing. I did not know that till now.

It means 'post script' or after writing. So when a letter is finished it's an afterthought or statement that needs attention.

P.S. means post script, post meaning after, script meaning the text. So, post script means after what you already wrote.
Fun Fact (well, opinion, sort of):
While most people would say P.S.S. after having one P.S., I think it would be more correct to say P.P.S., or post post script, meaning after the post script. :-)
