Powder Blue Gouramis can grow up to 2 inches in size and a minimum of 10 gallons of water is required per fish, They are a peaceful, shy fish that if in a pair will swim together. Powder Blue Dwarf Gouramis are considered Labyrinth Fish, meaning they breathe directly from the air, and must have access to the surface. The aquarium should be heavily planted and have at least part of the surface covered with floating plants. A darker substrate will help show-off the gourami's colors, and peat filtration is recommended. Regular water changes are a must, as this gourami can be susceptible to disease. They should not be kept with large, aggressive fish, but are compatible with other small, peaceful fish as well as fellow gouramis. Loud noises often scare them, so the tank should be in a quiet area. As with any tap water, dechlorinator, detoxifier, etc. will or may be needed depending on the quality of the water. Take a sample in for testing to a reputable aquarium store and have them suggest the needed additives to neutralize your water.

I've seen some Blue Gouramis the size of my hand at my LPS. I've never been able to get them larger than 3-4 inches, though.
The water on Long Island is great to use when do water changes. I notice that the water in upstate NY even Brooklyn or Manhattan is much harder. Your best bet would be to get a $5 bottle of water condition to neutralize the water before putting it in the tank.

I know that they grow up to 6 cm. in length. Also, they make great community fish with compatible fish of course, and should be kept in a large community tank These kind are the males, and they can only be with other males. And the females are the red ones and they can only be with other females. The Blue Gourami is a territorial fish, which naturally requires a large aquarium (at least 40 litres per 1 fish).

Untreated tap water will kill nearly all fish -- the water needs to be treated with a dechlorinator. If you treat your water and otherwise take good care of the gourami it should reach about 4 to 4 1/2 inches even in a small 10 gallon tank

They grow to up to 2 inches long. They are a dwarf gourami, so do not grow very large. One would be just fine in a 10 gallon aquarium. Tap water of any sort is harmful for a fish, so please make sure you dechlorinate the water before you add your fish.

Good luck!

How big do powder blue gouramis grow?

Do not put a goldfish in there... Goldfish is coldwater and needs a huge tank. As for the gourami I'm not sure twith out knowigm what the tank size is..I'm guessing it's small? And with the cichlids know wounder you had aggression as they should be with cichlids only and overstocked to help with the aggression.

Maybe 4 inches. If you have other fish in the 10 gallon tank it may get to crowded.

If you are using tap water be sure to use the chemicals to destress the fish as well as reduce the chlorine.
