Why else is it that if you are born in the West, you would have a propensity to be a Christian follower,

If Born in the Middle East, the propensity is to be a Muslim,

If Born in the East, Buddhism, Taoist etc.. etc...

Nothing more than indoctrination and all of it should be dispensed with and human beings then deal with each other on equal merits. Can you argue against this philosophy?

Religion is what happens when entrepreneurs and politicians get hold of philosophy

Indoctrination comes in all forms, religious, atheist and Idolotry as in N.K. All belief systems and all religions can be and have been exploited by the powerful to control an insecure and uneducated people. But there are secularists, atheists and religious people who do not abuse these belief systems who do really good things in the world and walk amongst us in humble and educated ways. You cannot make such sweeping over generalized statements about these things, you become just like the extremists you hate.

As a heathen for the first 30 years of my life, I beg to differ.

In the Middle East you have a point, but, there are Christians there, and they face persecution at times.

How do you explain China? There religious institutions are banned as subversive. It's illegal to own a religious text. Does lack of religion also equal political indoctrination?

What about N. Korea? Kim Jung Il is treated as a God, yet they are a Godless people.

it may have become that,in modern times, but wasn't always that way-especially in the mid-east.Paganism,Judaism,and Christianity were practiced long before the formation of the Muslim religion. it is only because of narrow-minded leaders in all sects of society who have put the masses under the yoke of hate and blame for the very hardships these leaders impose on the masses, that this is so today. when leaders with-hold information and stifle the political, economic, and religious freedom of their own people, is when this so called political indoctrination occurs.

Disagree. I was born in the US & am not a Christian so don't generalize. In most cases we follow the religion of our parents. There is no conflict between faith & dealing with others as equals.

Your definition in too narrow and restrictive. I must disagree. Check out the books by author and scholar Huston Smith to get a better idea of what religion is and what it means to different people.

I disagree, politics is supposed to be about groups of people who live in the same geographic region deciding what is the best course of action for them to take.

Religion is supposed to be about finding guidance and solice for your own person.

One is supposed to be rational, the other irrational niether are bad, but they shouldn't be mixed.

Remember that Christians are directed to pray in a windowless closet and let their actions speak for the validity of their spirtuality.

"Can you argue against this philosophy? "

Of course, anyone can.

What I have seen is your "opinion".

Which is exactly the same as those who express their religious opinions.

What makes yours [opinions] any more correct than theirs?

When you have some form of verifiable proof that you are correct try and ask again, otherwise, you are trying to impose your "opinion" on others and you seem to want to deal with others "equitably".
