they come from the genes, but blue and green eyes are not dominant genes, brown eyes are the dominant genes. They are just about only common in the Caucasian race, but Middle-easterns and Indians (from country India) have blue and green eyes too, look at aishwarya rai (currently the most beautiful woman in the world), she has green/blue eyes and she is from the middle-eastern/ india region. People say that only Caucasians have them, but they really don't much about other races then.

Blue and green eyes are a recessive inheritance trait. In order to have them both parents must carry the recessive for it. Someone who is brown eyed can carry the recessive gene for blue eyes or green eyes. My father has brown eyes, my mother blue and both my brother and I have blue eyes.

Yes they can show up in every race but appear to be rarer in some races than others.

x and y chromosomes...they may pop up from your ancestors...I know some black people with blue or green eyes...

I think its just a European thing. I know Africans, Indians, nor Asians have differently colored eyes.
