What are some good colleges/universities for majoring in Film/Cinema Studies? Preferably in nyc? or a big city?

I went to film school and I think it was valuable. Though it is unbelievable expensive, particularly in the last year.
There are Film Studies programs at almost all universities.
Film production, however, is more rare. I did mine at York University, in Toronto Canada. In the States, UCLA is the most famous.

Leave the big city, the crowds, the awful weather.
Migrate to Australia, sunny beaches, great life-style etc etc..
Go to Melbourne Film & Television uni or Sydney's art school (where Mel Gibson and other stars went).
If you work really hard you may get scholarships and go home to the U.S.A. an experienced director / producer

By the time you get through paying for a degree in all that stuff you could've financed at least part if not half of a feature in standard 35mm gauge. It's an art. You can learn it on your own. Watch the unions. They rot.
