No !
Why would you risk doing something like that?

I 've had my tongue pierced...twice.
First time, got the guts to do it after months of thought. The piercer was really nice, he kept on chatting while preparing my tongue (he put anesthetic / numbing spray, then a clamp to hold the tongue) and before I could realize I felt a needle going through my tongue. Doesn't hurt at all. (I did go to the most reknown piercer in town).
Just don't eat sushi or anything spicy and follow all the indications your piercer will tell you after getting your piercing (oral hygiene etc.). Your tongue will be swollen for about a week /week and a half (it will become like twice the size).
I took off my piercing for almost a year and had to go back to get it pierced again... no, didn't hurt the second time either.
Just choose the best piercer around, the place must be ultra clean and the person must make you feel comfortable.
The jewelry you will have during the first weeks is in metal and the bar is longer than the one you'll have afterwards. When my tongue wasn't swollen anymore, I chose a metal bar with plastic ends so it won't damage my teeth.
Good luck !

Yes, and it only hurt a bit at the beginning and was sore for the next couple of days. Not even as bad as a canker sore, just be careful for the first few times you eat. You need to be careful not to bite it, because that's what truly hurts.

Yes mine is pierced-and the worst part was the piercer couldent get the small ball to screw onto the end and the whole time he was trying he was holding my newly pierced tong out with his plyiers.

Not in this world! I met somebody in Monterey, California who did and contracted gangrene. I don't know if they're still alive. Or the place is hideously into B.S. Both are good likelihoods.

No and of all the crazy things I've done in my life and probably still will, that is the last thing I would consider. Your mouth is already a hotbed of bacteria. One word about this practice - GROSS.
