Whenever I get to an open high place, I'm not necessarily scared of being up there. the view is great! However I do fear silly things like my glasses being blown off my face, or me dropping an item I'm carrying.

Is this a fear of heights, or something different?

... no, just some irrational thoughts. Next time your up there just tell yourself how ridiculous a particular thought is. Replace an irrational thought with a rational one (Rational Emotive Therapy, A.K.A, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy).

Definately not a fear of heights, other wise you wouldn't be comfortable. If you had a fear of you being blown off then it would be a fear of heights.
