For example, having a movie night is one that I thought of. Any other that may even bring culture awareness about American Indians?

I was co-director of a Native American student union at a University.

Here are some ideas:
- Pow-wow (complicated to put together but always brings in big crowds and teaches culture)
- Cultural Speakers (have any Native person come speak, famous or tribal etc.., people Native and non-Native love to listen, make sure there is food too)
- Weekly Potlucks/Community Gatherings (just to bring the community together, works like a charm)
- Basketball Tournament (Basketball is an Indigenous sport and not only that but Natives love Bball!, And it brings in a crowd that doesn't usually show up at other events)
- Indigenous Solidarity Day (educate on Indigenous issues all around the world, bring in tribal speakers and make sure you have petitions too if there are local issues and music etc...)
- Anti-Columbus Day Event (bring in people to educate on the strength of Native people and the truth of Columbus, best done on Columbus day)
- Cultural Learning Activities (these go over really well. Can learn how to make regalia, drumsticks/rattles, medicine dolls/corn husk dolls, moccassins, learn trades to like plank splitting and arrow head making and basket weaving)
- Workshops are great too. Look into the local community and you can probably get some people to work with you to put together a workshop (examples: Native Healing Workshop, Native Empowerment Workshop, Native Leadership Workshop)

Hope this helps. If you need tips or anything just email me, I have lots of experience: NatashaChandiJoseph@gmail.com

Travel to meet the still existing tribes, even if travel is not an option
send video post cards to practicing tribal members to see how they live.Good or bad it should help make people aware.
