The concept of destiny is not useful. American Idol contestants believe it's their destiny to be a star, then they're devastated when they learn otherwise. If people say you are destined to be a loser, it's only true if you believe them. There seems to be a need to carve everything in stone, and see things in terms of all or nothing. Life is about learning to negotiate and compromise, not about fulfilling a destiny.

Destiny is what you make of your life, etc-- if you take drugs you will be come addicted, if you gamble you will get out of control, if you do crime you will end up in prison, so you see Destiny is the makeing of ourselves.
Do all by the good book and you will also have a good life with destiny to lead a fruitfull life.

I believe in destiny because I believe that all of us have a certain life path we need to lead, certain things we need to accomplish in this life, this is called dharma. We all have a mission in life, and it is our destiny to carry it out. However, I also believe in free will, and that's what makes so many of us fall off the track we should be on through foolish choices. If you're interested in learning more about this, check out books by Sylvia Browne, Wayne Dyer, and Doreen Virtue.

In some way, but what you are now is the result of what your have had thought in the past. In other way, you can change your future by put in your mind what you really want in your life -big percentage of what you think now will come through, if you really believe that you will get them. If you do not have dreams in your life then you won't get anywhere in life. Control your destiny by controling your thought or mind, never think anything bad or negative for yoursake or other people sake.

Every thing happens for the same reason that the 15th decimal in Pi is "3". If "3" wasn't the 15th decimal in Pi it wouldn't be Pi. If Pi didn't exist the universe simply would fail to happen.
Therefore the reason why we are where we are in universe is because we have to be, the reason you stubbed your toe that time was because you had too. Its not so much destiny as a logical order.

Yes..Our lives are mapped out for us before we are born..We have choices along the way but the end result is the same..If we find ourselves with the wrong partner, they are just caretakers because there are certain things we are meant to do with them that will not be possible later..Or,you plan to travel somewhere and the car breaks down, later you find out there was a massive pile up on the road you would have been on..It's not an easy one to understand...

it depends on what you mean by destiny. i believe that each person's life is a map. there are different paths. some that lead to the same place and some that lead to a dead end (death). depending on where they are in life, they can move back or skip a stone on the path. however, as things change, paths change.

this is the way i think based on the way i was brought up. my parents don't think this way and i don't believe in a higher power.

Not as in it's pre-destined, for every choice we make has an impact. Changing our thoughts alone changes our destiny.
