The majority of the time I'll pretend to be taking orders for a pizzeria or I'll answer the phone in a different language. Does that count as lying?

Nope...they don't last long enough for me to lie to them. As soon as I realize it's a telemarketer all they hear is a dial tone.

My husband is horrible with that. They call and ask for me, and he answers in his very masculine voice and says "this is she." It freaks them out, and they are not sure what to say next. One time he told them he couldn't talk b/c he was having sex. He actually likes when they call so he can try a new excuse.

I don't. I look at the caller id, if I don't recognize the number or name I don't answer.

I exclaim" OH MY GOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING CALLING HERE SO FRIGGIN LATE, MY CHILDREN ARE TRYING TO SLEEP", even if it's 3:00 in the afternoon!!

every time they call. I tell them who ever they asked for isn't at home. Even if they ask for me.
