well they mean some things and for others they think they mean it because of their emotions

Well, I think a little of both. When we have raging emotions we (or I) tend to say the things that I didn't have the nerve to say before. I had a lot of things on my mind while I was with my ex. So, I decided to write a note when I had been crying all day. Needless to say, that's the note that ended things. A lot of times I say something when I'm upset then I regret saying it. It was meant to just be hurtful and I'm not that way at all.

it depends on the situation sometimes women (as well as men) say what they mean and other times other times they say things they dont mean in the heat of the moment.
some women try to say what they mean most of the time (i know i do), because they dont want to lead that person astray.
The truth is you can never be 100% sure that a person is saying what they mean but you can become almost certain over time; by getting to know them. over time you will begin to see if their actions match what they say.....
