If its the automatic transmission, you have to get under the car. If you can use a lift it would be safer. On the back of the transmission you will find a plug. Unscrew that plug and see if any fluid comes out, if it was full you might get alittle to run out. Not sure if you can get a finger in it to check the level. If you dont see any fluid, add atf until you get some to run out the hole, then you know its full. Also there is a plug on the front side of the transmission, that you do not check the level from, that is the pressure side of the transmission. It is a pain to check these out. Good luck.

What do you mean by a sealed trans? Is your car standard? If your car is a standard their is a plug on the side of the transmission that has to be taken out for it to be checked. If your car is an automatic their is a dipstick that you pull out that you check. Most garages that change your oil will check your transmission fluid for a little of nothing. They must put it up on a lift to check it. If it is a standard.

It's a 4T40 trans? If it's not leaking, it's full. If it is leaking...fix the fricken thing. It's a real pain in the butt to check fluid...have to put car in the air.
