The LH surge happens 24 to 48 hours before you ovulate. Ovulation happens anywhere from ten to sixteen days before you menstruate. Your OPKs should tell you on what day to start testing-if you have 37 day cycle, chances are you won't ovuate until day 21 at the earliest, and so, you would have a whole week of testing ahead. On the other hand, if you have a 28 day cycle and a 14 day luteal phase (the time between ovulation and menstruation) then you may have missed your LH surge. If you're feeling discharge, it may be your body getting ready to ovulate, or it may be the sticky, egg white cervical mucous-only you can tell that, by looking at it. Check the instructions for your OPK to find out when to begin testing...if your cycles are irregular, it's often suggested that you use your shortest cycle in the last six months to determine when to start testing.

Assuming you have a 27-28 day cycle you may have started testing too late or you just haven't had a surge yet.OPK's are helpful but a pita sometimes.I would keep having sex just in case you haven't O'ed yet.Charting < bbt's>your cycles is also helpful..Not every woman ovulates on day 14.I ovulate on day 12..if I waited til the textbook 14th day, I've missed the fertile window.Just remember that you have no idea usually if the OPK is catching the beginning, middle or end of a surge.HTH

I would go ahead and have sex anyway. I dont know way yor cycle length is or what you test kit told you to do but usually you start testing on day 11 because it detects the surge of hormones that happens before you ovualte. Read the instructions to make sure but i would still go ahead and have sex...better to be safe than sorry. Good Luck

just today i went to my doctor and he also had me get a ovulation kit. i was told to start testing on the 10th day of your cycle..so you may have missed or you may not ovulate until your 15-16 day.. don't give up...:)
