Can anyone recommend a good foundation? I get the odd spot every now again, but generally skin is ok. It can get a bit dry and sensitive, especially in winter when I don't get much sun. I would just like something to give me even coverage, natural looking whilst hiding all those imperfections... Thanks!

Use MAC foundations and any of their beauty products. I use to suffer from exzema quite badly and had it on my face for most of my childhood. I had to use medication that contained steriods causing my skin to thin and create a two-tone effect on my face. I've tried many foundations and have found Mac to be the best. It helped to even out the blemishes and condition my face. Not only does it do that it stays on all day and looks and feels great. Mac can be expensive but is worth evey penny and lasts ages. The prices vary from £15 to £23 for foundation or the same for compact powder. Go in to any Mac store, the make-up artists are fab, they know what your skin tone and what colour you need as soon as you walk through the door. They'll try some tones on you and even give you a little tester pot to take home. Give it a go, you'll love it. Once you try Mac, you'll never go back. Good luck!!

There really aren't many "bad" foundations out there. Performance usually depends on the health of your skin. If you don't need a lot of coverage then use a tinted moisturiser with a matching concealer to hide those booboos. The better the canvass then the better the results when you apply the paint. lol.

Maybelline New York- Ever Fresh Makeup! it's the best i've experienced. It gives your skin a flawless finish, especially if you have a sensitive type of skin-it also contains the needed moisturiser for hydrating your skin while convering the imperfections and it lasts long. Use it. It's the best.

i have dry sensitive skin and also get the odd spot now and then i love max factor lasting performance it covers really well and as i have dry skin some foundations dry too fast and leave you with rough flaky patches this foundation doesnt dry in too quickly and costs round about a tenner to buy..well worth the money,go try some testers and find a colour that suits your skin tone.

I have used Max Factor for years and wouldn't even try anything else - it is pricy but the coverage is excellent and they do different types to suit all skin types. It may also be worth your while going to a big department store and speaking to the dolly birds (sorry that is what I call them) on the cosmetics counters - they give really good advice and free samples - just don't let them talk you into buying loads of their products until you have tried some of the samples

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse is fab - feels like bare skin and gives a nice coverage - use a damp sponge to get it really smooth.

I also use Rimmel Recover if I'm looking a bit grey/ tired. It may not make me look like Kate Moss (would need several miracles to do that...) but it does brighten my skin

I love Christian Diors airflash foundation. Its about £30 but lasts for about 6 weeks even if you use it everyday. It comes in a can which you spray over your face its really light but covers well and lasts all day. Its so light that you dont even feel like you are wearing any make up. Would recommend.

Hi, i agree with AMMO and R S - Max factor is the best! They have a few different foundations to chose from, and all are great. With whatever foundation of theirs i have, i always also have one of their "pan sticks" and mix it with the foundation while i am putting it on - it gives a brilliant coverage if you need extra, and is very moisturising.

Lancome are really good quality foundations. You can choose what type of coverage you want, i use the one called teint idole, its a maximum coverage foundation but still looks natural and not caked on.
