This may be funny too some people, but I have had a recurring dream for the past year and a half. As it normally starts it is WWII and Adolf Hitler has seized control of the world. And I am the leader of a large resistance movement to stop him, i grow my armies for about a year, and then launch a major attack on the stronghold he is in.
There are two variations in the dream, the first variation is that my plan for attack is ALWAYS different. The second variation is that my attacks have one of two outcomes, the first outcome is that my attack works, my armies seize the stronghold and im announced king of the world, the other outcome is that my army is that I fail and that my army is destroyed and i am executed. What does this dream mean? I used to think that dreams didnt really have to mean anything... but because i continue having this dream and because i saw questions similar to this I am wondering if it is my sub conscious trying to tell me something.
Thank you for your answers.

First of all, you are a big history nut, right? Secondly, this is a very detailed dream ... I'm impressed. Lastly, it seems as though you are under some pressure. I wonder if on days that you have experienced sucess during the day if those are nights when you beat Adolf. And on not so good days at work that you fail and are killed. Our dreams are usually our unconscious mind trying to sort out or deal with our daily dealings. I wouldn't let it bother me too much. I say enjoy the days you defeat Hitler, and not to sweat the nights that don't go your way. Fortunately, it hasn't killed you.

Also, it sounds like your a perfectionist - all or nothing.

Because you are the leader in a "war-like" situation, this could stand for an internal "war" or "battle" you see yourself going through. The fact that it is the same background may mean that you feel like you are constantly battling the same issues or ideas in yourself or your environment. As the plan of attack changes(like that of how you are "attacking" the situations"), you feel like you are really making a change. However, the outcomes are always the same, just as your subconscious may be telling you no matter how you attack it, it's always going to end the same. Maybe you need to look at something differently, instead of feeling that you have to "attack" a situation, or take it in a beligerent way.

War
To dream of a war, signifies disorder and chaos in your personal affairs. You also be experiencing some internal conflict or emotional struggle. You are feeling torn between aspects of yourself. Perhaps the dream may indicate that you are being overly aggressive or you are not being assertive enough.

Firstly, time is passing very quickly in your dream, and I think you're making part of it up. Second, the fact that the outcome is always different means that your strategies in real life only work part of the time, and you need to stick with the one that works.

You are indecisive. You need to do a better job of convincing yourself that one approach is superior to the rest.

The second part is just win/lose, which is only black or white. There's lots of gray in the outcome that you are missing.
