Wasn't he supposed to be in line to be the first black President of the United States?

He went before the U.N. and was opposing the presidents efforts about lies and deciets and coverups about the faulty information used to propel us into this declared war on terrorism. (its not really a war, its a conflict carefully worded to allow the president a wider spectrum for capabilities as commander in chief in wartime)
And eventually was pressured to resign by the bush administration.

Hes one of the firstvictims of bush's substitutions to whoever disagreed with his point of view on this war.
Howmany generals has Bush gone through since this war began?

That should tell everyone somethign there. Any company would examine carefully why upper managments or supervisors keep leaving, with a high turnover rate. Why doesnt our government do the same.

He might have been a Republican Presidential candidate I could vote for if he would have resigned rather than give that ridiculous presentation on WMD to the UN. That would have taken more integrity then any politician had ever shown me. He decided to play loyal soldier, instead. He is right to be hiding from the public spotlight.

Yes he was. He made the mistake of getting mixed up with Bush, the repubs, and Iraq though. Like Rumsfeld.

So now he wants nothing to do with them and he's out of the party more or less.

Good question, it's too bad because he is a smart, intelligent and capable person. If he was running for president, people would be saying "Obama who?". I honestly think if he ran for president, there would be minimal attention to his race and more focus on his capabilities.

People who work for George W. have a habit of ending up on the scrap heap.

His wife actually feared for his life, so she discouraged him from running.

Judging by the political climate in this country I don't blame her, or him for removing himself from the picture.
