when does one take PSAT? Freshman or Junior in High school?

Where I go to school they recommend to take the PSAT in the 10th and the 11th grade in order to have two times of practice for the SAT. Then they recommend to take the SAT in the 11th and the 12th because the more practice the better. Plus, the best score you get on the SAT is the one that colleges look at.

My teacher also told me that each time you take the SAT your points usaully go up about 100 points or so. The only thing about the SAT is that you must pay for it. The PSAT in some places the schools sometimes pay for them.

You can take the PSAT before your junior year, but if you want the chance to qualify for National Merit, your junior year is the one that counts.

I would also suggest taking the SAT in the spring of your junior year so you have time to retake it before college application deadlines in the winter of your senior year.

Depending what district you are ( i think) all 10th graders get to take the PSAT for free. You are automatically signed up on the list. After that you can take it in 11th but YOU have to pay and signed yourself up. you CAN'T take it as a freshman.

best time to take it is your first semester during sophmore year of high school , and then just keep taking the SAT and ACT's until u have the score u want. The earlier u start the better chances u have of getting a high score

I took it freshman and sophomore years I'll probably take it junior too. If your school allows it then take it freshmen year as well.
