It was a very scary experience . I had only just turned 18 ..it was at Glasgow High Court - ( now the Corinthian Club Ingram St.) The Judge was the Flamboyant Lord Fraser of Carmyllie.. ( who was escorted off a plane at Dundee Airport for being Drunk recently ) Anyway...it was nasty case - 3 men accused of Murder & other Evil things ..I remember Vomitting seeing some of the evidence ..5 weeks it went on for.. the food was great, Expenses superb. .especially when you have a pre-arranged contract with your boss for 5 weeks of double shifts sheer.coincedence !!..money for old rope eh! It is no easy task though...its hard to sit there and look interested without Yawning..

Going to the courthouse everyday from 9 :00 - 11:30 and then going home. I wasn't picked for a jury

Got 2 weeks off work and got paid for it.

I was on a malpractice jury.
The one piece of advice I would give: DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES TALK TO EITHER ATTORNEY(S) AFTER THE TRIAL ENDS!!!
After our trial was over, the last thing the judge told the jury is that we were under no obligation to speak to the attorneys, but if we wanted to, that was ok.
The "losing" attorneys stopped myself and one other juror and very casually talked to us about the deliberations. This was done on the pretense of how the legal team could do their job better next time. That was total BS.
They attempted to use what we said in an appeal against our verdict. (The appeal was thrown out)
I should have known better!

Painfully long, painfully boring, and just plain painful. Hard oak chairs in the court house were probably 75 years old.

I never got picked for a jury. I just got ordered around all day.

I was on two civil suit juries. I found it interesting. I've never been called for a criminal case.
