1. (1\4)x=39 divide 36 by 1/4 or multiply 36 by 4 to get the number
2.1.96 divide by 4 that will give u the answer.
3 mutiply -6 by 3 which will be -18 then divide it by 8, that ur answer.
4. multiply 30 by 5 then tale the answer and divide by 3
5. divide 1.431 by 5.3
6. it will 5b=8 then divide 8 by 5

What do you know: a quarter of the total number is 39.
How do you write a quarter of something? You divide the something by 4:
X/4 = 39
How do you change this equation so that the X finds itself alone on one side and only a number on the other?
In this case, multiply both sides by 4:
4*(X/4) = 4*(39)

2. 1.96/4 =.49 cents for one banana
3. -6 * 3/8 -3.4795833333 which equals r
4. t = 30 * 5/3 = 50
5. q = 5.3 * 1.431 = 7.5843
6. factor out b so you get
b(1+4) = 8
then b = 8 / (1+4) which is 8/5
