The creamy vanilla ice cream with pistachios in Damascus is wonderful - the best I've ever had. Its amazing to watch them make it. The old suuq is also something worth seeing. The whole Old City of Damascus is nice to see. St Paul's Chapel, Chapel of Annanias and the Ummyad Mosque (claims to have the remains of John the Baptist) are all there as well.
The people were very kind and hospitable.
