If you do get to do that, you will be one of the very lucky few. You would defenitely have to research and find a spot that dolphins are known to inhabit. I have had them come up to my boat and swim beside it, but I havent had the fortune to swim with them when they were not in captivity. You should defenitely do some research, then plan a trip out to the place that you find.

Good luck! That is a wonderful idea!

It is illegal to interfere/approach wild Dolphins off of the coast of America... I was told this at Discovery Cove in Florida. Any kind of interaction with them is considered invasive to their environment which is why I went to Discovery Cove to interact with them in a controlled environment... a wonderful experience and loved every second of it.

Before that I went on a boat trip in Spain that claimed I would swim with wild Dolphins but there were none there at that time so I was a little disappointed.

Other than that my friend swam with them off of the coast of Australia (don't know where exactly).

Is definitely a wonderful experience though... I would love to swim with them in the wild but can understand why some restrictions are in place in certain countries.

Wild dolphins tend to stay away from humans. But I'm sure if you went to the Florida keys, you'd be able to swim close to some wild ones.

I am not sure how safe it is to swim with wild dolphins...they are pretty far out in the ocean.

I swam with them when i was on a cruise over the summer

A wonderful place to swim with them is Austrailia. They are very tame there and love it when swimmers and divers visit them. They run tours for you to swim with them. I saw a lot of them at a place called Forster swimming in the sea. They are wonderful creatures and very cool.
It might seem a long way to go but it is really worth it just for the animals. I stoked a kangaroo, saw eagles in the desert and rode a camel all in just one holiday. Fantastic.
