Please do not be offended by this if you have aspergers syndrome or you know someone who has. It is a serious post to understand this condition.

I know two people who have this disorder and as you can imagine they are socially excluded from normal circles. Both of them I would not trust are ound young children or woman, and by this I mean sexually. I read the paper today about a 15 year old who had this and he sexually assualted a young girl and asphxyated her accidently at a family party.

Is there a possible link between this condition and sexual deviancy. ?

People with Asperger's Syndrome sometimes have a hard time learning the rules of social behavior, so they might do things that others would consider inappropriate. But I wouldn't say they're more prone to "sexual deviancy" than other people.

Sometimes people with Asperger's don't know when another person is upset, and can't read emotions very well in general. I imagine this could lead to a situation where one person didn't know the other was unwilling to engage in a sexual act, unless they stated it very clearly. "Stop what you're doing, I don't want to have sex." Because facial expressions and vocal sounds are harder to interpret when you have Asperger's.

I'm not sure why you would draw that conclusion based on 1 incident you read. I'm also not sure why anyone would draw that conclusion based on 1 personal experience.

Contrary to popular belief, with most brain disorders people are more likely to harm themselves than other people.

By the way, a Google search for "sexual deviancy asperger's syndrome" yeilds only a few hundred results and none are from credible sources or studies.

I read your post where you pretended to be a rape "councilir" in order to have rape victims detail their attacks. I'm guessing you have Asperger's and since you worry that you're a sexual deviant, you're trying to find a cause. It's very unlikely to be the Asperger's but you're right to worry about the deviancy.

That seems quite possible if you know two different people with the disease that have both had sexually deviant habits.

This would be grounds for a good study - maybe you should petition the government for a grant.

I wouldn't think so. Asperger's is a highly functioning austic person. Usually, these individuals prefer not to have contact with others. Therefore, the activity you suggest seems out of character for a person with Asperger's

Yes, there is a proven link between this condition and sexual deviancy. Not just this condition, but any condition in which the body develops appropriately and there are still some brain abnormalities. Even in psychiatric institutes, patients with Aspergers are the most sexually deviant and are usually very closely monitored. Though I must add, there is no link between the condition and other deviant acts, like strangulation. Just sexual deviancy.

I have Asperger's Syndrome and I've never sexually assaulted anyone, nor do I have any desire to. There are plenty of neurotypicals, on the other hand, that are sex offenders.
