I need a list of all the minerals in pumice please. Please include minerals such as feldspar, plagioclase, pyroxene, olivine, mica, amphibole, biotite, and quartz. I have tried to find this online, but so far I've had no luck. Please help! Thank you!

**There should be anywhere from 2-5 minerals.

As pat quoted from Wikipedia: Pumice is a highly vesicular pyroclastic igneous rock of intermediate to siliceous magmas including rhyolite, trachyte and phonolite.

What this means is that it was formed explosively from a volcano and; since it cooled extremely rapidly, it trapped gas bubbles throughout it's structure and is mostly pore space (about 90% air really) and glass. Since it cooled quickly enough to form glass (amorphous) it isn't actually composed of mineral crystals. Think of it as lava froth. The original magma it formed from would have contained somewhat different minerals depending on whether it was more felsic or more basic. The rhyolites (more felsic) would have been mostly quartz, alkali feldspars and plagioclase feldspars with possibly some biotite mica or pyroxene. The more basic (from more basaltic magmas)version of pumice is usually called Scoria instead of Pumice so it's probably not the one you're looking for. If you need that one the real difference is the amount of quartz (very little) and types of feldspar (it's almost all plagioclase) and mica (phlogopite instead of biotite). The trace minerals are a little different too, mostly pyroxenes and possibly a little olivine.

If it was me I'd probably just go with the quartz, plagioclase and alkali feldspars :)
