Oddly enough, there is schism going on with the Christian conservative right on this issue. Many of them are turning to environmental concerns because they are seeing their water, air and nature being ruined by corporatization and this Republican government. They are coming around. Many are interested in driving hybrids or electric cars and trying to heal the planet because it is what God and Jesus would want us to do as good stewards of the planet. There was a huge PBS show with Bill Moyers on this very thing. The Christian right that doesn't want this in their movement are the Jerry Falwell's and the Pat Robertsons who own mines in AFrica and are part of the corporate elite who are destroying the planet.

i don't know a unmarried conservative that drives an SUV. THIS conservative (socially conservative besides) would not evenchronic. Our previous vehicle replaced right into a Ford Ka.
