I,ve removed CD/rw and replaced it with DVD/RW, it will recognise on start then then completly lose.

I had the same problem and i couldn't believe how easy it was to sort (thanks to yahoo answers!!!)

Take the dvd back out of your computer, and then turn it your computer on and leave it for a few mins. Next, turn off your compter and install it in agian and then reboot and try again.

On my compter it regonised it at first and then wouldn't take it, but once I did that it took it fine and its the same as your Sony!!

did you install the rom your self if so set the jumper its on the back of the cd rom a wee plug should be on master put it to slave ther is a wee diagram on top and if that does work reinstall you r old rom from the same wire but set the old rom to master or the other way round just fiddle around DONT GET FRIED you do not need to reinstall windows it will find it its self

try and check on the manufacturer website to see if anyone else has had this problem. Look on the FAQ of the company. Also check to see that you have got the latest drivers. Hope this helps

i'd the model before!

had to download drivers and flash the dvds bios in process to get it working!!

visit sonys website, you'l find what you need there!
