Well I know from personal experience that the guitar from Guitar Hero (the original) will work with the new Guitar Hero II. I haven't yet tried Guitar Hero II's guitar with the original game, but I'm almost 100% positive that it would work. Otherwise, I'm sure there would be a LOT of angry rockers!
