I think Jim Carey is an excellent actor and could do any role presented him well such that the last thing I am going to do is see a very scarey movie with him acting in it. They give me nightmares but sometimes I cannot resist watching them until they scare me so bad I get up and leave like Jurassic park when the dinosaur ate that man who was hiding in the bathroom I ran out to the bathroom and missed it because it scared me so bad. I love alot of movies like that but I avoid the ones that are totally about terror like chain saw massacre. My sister loves going to movies where the plots just seemed often to be only about killing everyone and would take me when we were young until I had a fight with her and said stop making me go.

Thanks I never thought about alot of this I just could not get over how terrifying the movies were and how much she enjoyed them when they just scared me terribly.

I saw a doctor about it once she said probably because I had not gotten over being severely abused physically as a child and in my first marriage that I have issues...maybe it is just to real for me after being kicked thrown into walls punched beaten with hangers because mom got tired of us taking to long to bring in her switches etc.
But it still does not explain to me my sisters fascination when she got beaten badly also

These answers are really good I never considered alot of this and I may take that as advice in handling the fiction so I stop missing the scarey parts of movies which are part of the plot.

It;s the adrenaline rush that some people get. I p[ersonally love scary movies but it's just the \same as asking why some people like rock and others hip hop? It just happens. lol. Hop e that helped

Motel Hell from the 70's It's about these people who own a Motel Called Motel Hello. Your car mysteriously breaks down in the middle of nowhere and theres this Motel, They get you in a room drug you and put you in a garden to plump you up to make human Beef Jerky! It's sick and they have this girl who's trying to get away and trips in the garden over what looked like a plant she takes off the bag and there is a human head with it's mouth open waiting to be fed!

I know what you mean. I really enjoy a good scary flick, like Sixth Sense, Rose Red, etc.
As for blood, guts and gore pictures that flaunt themselves as a scary thrillers, they are not even in the same dimension let alone class.

umm...Jurassic Park was more of an action movie, not horror....the Number 23 doesn't seem like horror either.
