After 30 years fo trying, forget it. The best thing that has worked on a temporary basis for me is to tell her I am leaving at a certain time, if she is not ready, I leave without her. Usually she will be ready the next time but within a couple months, I have to do it again.

When ever you plan on doing anything, tell her either an hour or a half hour advancing the time you really need to do something example, dinner plans at 5, tell her you are having dinner at 4:30, but don't ever let her know you are tricking her or it won't work, then when you don't leave at 4:30, tell her you figured she would be late so you changed the time, so you didn't have to rush her, she everyone's happy!

Constantly being late is a subtle (sometimes not so subtle) form of control. Here is an option for you. When it is time to go... just go. Leave her behind. If she is to meet you somewhere like for a movie...and if she's not there, buy the ticket and go in. Only you can allow yourself to be controlled.

The question here is this...is this a pattern or an occassional event. If it is a pattern she has a problem. Don't make it yours and don't take it personally. Just go on with your life.

If you need to leave at 7 pm tell her you need to leave at 6 30 pm and when she is running just a bit late in all truth she is actually a little early. This may work for a short period of time. but at least it is a temporary fix.

Lie about when something starts.

If she is always 15 min late, crank the time forward for when it starts.

It's the only way I used to be able to get people to show up on time for the boat racing team I was on.

Well, that kinda stems from what she was taught early on. If she was taught that it's OK to be late and that promptness isn't a virtue, then there's no hope. You could always do what my family does for some of us.... tell them it starts at 6 and really it starts at 7pm. LOL. Good Luck.

Hope you mean on time for appointments!! If that is what you mean, tell her you have to be somewhere a half hour before the actual time. If that doesn't work try an hour.

I saw one answer Ha Ha, that about sums it up, try setting the clock ahead, we do that for one lady at our church, we tell her we're leaving at 5, she'll get there at 6 and that's really what time we are leaving.

HOw do you get your wife to be ontime for what?? Does she work? IF so...sometimes you have to finish your work before you can just leave......perhaps there's traffic on her way home..or she stops to get food to make dinner when she walks in the door....if she's always running late in everything she does...set the alarm clock for 10-15min earlier so she won't be rushing around to get ready to be somewhere ontime...GOODLUCK*

Girls are never on time. They want to make sure their make-up is right. They want to see if that perfect pair of jeans make their butt look big, I know I am one of them, What you can do it probaly set a time or just tell them "you look good in those jeans or you look awesome with that make-up ok lets go" because if you don't tell them that they would have to check them self and we always have to find one little problem. lol try it,it might work.
