any good cheap hotels near the beach? we will be coming to see the beach in may...any good places to eat that won't break us?

There are some cheaper hotels in Destin but relative to the other high priced hotels you may not actually consider them cheap, especially if you are going to be there in May. I went to Destin on vacation a few months ago. This is the most beautiful beach but was ruined by all of the sharks, jellyfish and low flying fighter jets from Fort Walton Air Force Base. The beach patrol are Ft Walton sheriffs department off-duty officers with no respect for the innocent. I payed 1500. Condo rental for a week of misery! I would not recommend Sand Destin Florida to anyone I cared about.
