Money is not the root of all evil, the love of money is. We should all go back to bartering.

It really isn't all that ridiculous, its simple economics. There is a scarce amount of resources on this planet. War is fought when there is a disagreement between nations about how those resources should be allocated.

A good example would be the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor. Japan has very little iron and no oil, both of which were very important to its economy. The United States, a major supplier of Japanese oil (from the Philippines) decided to embargo Japan because of their aggression in Asia. Japan decides the only way it can survive is to eliminate the US Navy's Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor and take the Philippines, which it does, starting US involvement in World War II.

Mercenaries are people who fight for money. The US has never fought a war for pay. The idea that we are in Iraq for oil squarely disputes the notion that our involvement there is about money, you see it would have been a whole lot cheaper to follow the French example to lift the UN sanctions on Iraq and simply buy the oil from saddam. It would have been a whole lot cheaper

Cellulose is new my friend.

We've been fighting for resources and land for much longer than we've fought for dollars. Fighting for money is nothing new.

We fight over the resources that money can purchase. If we used a barter system, we'd be fighting over eggs.

men will make war over whatever they can.. war is unfortunately a large part of our nature in many cases.. fight or flight.. and the fighters outnumber the fliers in power these days.

It's called GREED. It comes with money, property, control of people, drugs, sex trade. It all equals the same, greed. And it has been that way since the beginning of prehistoric man.

Well because if we didn't have these things called dollars then we really wouldn't have anything, so it sort of makes since that people want them.
