I would choose something interesting; for example,

-internet and young people
-discrimination
-friendship and values among young people...

What do you think? Good Luck!

Since it is a public speaking class you need to pick a topic that your target audience wants to hear about or that they care about. Your target audience being first your classmates and second your teacher. I would choose something that everyone is currently thinking about and then spin it in a different light. For example: Lunch time. Spin how it is not just a break from class for food but how its also your sanctuary from class. Make sure you choose a subject you are comfortable with. Also, your teacher may say that she wants you to read it out loud but if you memorize it then you can make eye contact with your audience and that makes a huge difference. You and three other people can read the exact same thing but if you are able to captivate your audience then they will listen to you.

Pick something you are really into like music or a movie or something else that really sparks your interest...that way its something easy for you to talk about. How about what the heck was Brittany thinking? LOL...sorry couldn't resist. Something that you can talk on for at least 2 minutes to make a good impression...don't forget eye contact... :)

You'll have to find a topic which your are enthusiastic about. Having someone select a topic for you will most likely make it harder. If you are having trouble try brainstorming a list of things you like such as activities, sports, hobbies, places you like, etc...
