Auctually its really simple. Hold down the center button then hold down the menu button, wait 5-8 seconds and the apple logo should apper on the screen, you wont lose your songs but your settings might reset.

while my ipod did this, i became instructed to hold the middle button and the menu button on a similar time. And it ought to artwork for some human beings, yet no longer for me. What I had to do became only flow away it on my own for awhile...and that i do no longer understand if the battery died and then it close off, or if it only close off and then became superb. yet the two way, if urgent buttons would not artwork, i might advise letting or no longer that is for slightly. desire your ipod's ok!

Take the POS back to the store, and buy a Creative instead.
Creative players are cheaper, and don't get these issues.
Best of all no i-tunes or licencing junk to deal with, it works with windows media player.

Put it on the radiator to de-frost and try not to keep it in the freezer in future.

2 things - Turn it off then on, or put it in the microwave for a few seconds (maybe 8) to get the HD spinning again.
