Most people believe in them, but no one ever seems to have actually seen one. So if you've really seen one, no doubts, you hadn't been drinking, using drugs or half asleep, I would really like to know

Yet she never has.

i have seen a few different ghost.

i live in a house built around 1880. the house was next to the train post and was used as a boarding house for a while. the house was also used for Catholic church services for MANY YEARS while the first church was built in our town. that's the only history i know on the house BUT, here's what i've SEEN here:

"the shadow" is what i call the figure i have seen standing in one corner of our dining room. it LOOKS EXACTLY like a shadow that has been cast off a person BUT, there's no one to cast the shadow...

"the girl on the stairs" ... she has longer dark hair, she's maybe 5, 6, or 7 maybe... and i have only seen her walking DOWN the stairs. our dog sits at the bottom of the steps sometimes and cries and shakes while he is looking at "nothing". two of my kids and my mother have fallen down the stairs and SWEAR they had tripped over something. the little girl looks like a paint splattering... like a bunch of dots that don't connect but are kind of close together... that's the best i can discribe her.

when we take pictures inside the house roundish, white circles and ovals show up...for the most part you are guaranteed to get them to show up if you are taking photos in the sitting room (which is where we have all of our formal family parties).

the first ghost that i ever was able to see here was one that I call "Henry". i was sitting at a table in the foyer looking at the mail (in the evening when i came home). i had a feeling that i wasn't alone (but no one was home other than myself). i SLOWLY turned my head and looked towards the hall leading from the foyer and next to the closet door (use to be used for the catholic church confessional) there was a man standing there. i only got a glimpse of him before he vanished but he was NOT dressed for church, he was wearing a white colored night shirt with a "v" neck and several buttons. i only ever saw him the one time. i called him "Henry" because my mind was completely blank when i first spotted him but the name just popped into my mind.

there are a LOT of stories i could tell about things the ghosts DO... EVERY MEMEBER of my family has had things happen here. when we SEE the ghosts they don't do anything... it's when you can't SEE them that they're having some fun at our expense.

I haven't actually seen one, but i do have a ghost encounter that actually happened to me. Once, some friend and i decided that we were going to go visit this burnt down school late at night.. sorry was, it burnt down during the day which kids were at school, and no one knew what started the fire, but there were some kids that had gotten trapped inside and ended up dying before they could be rescued. The school is in, oklahoma city, close to a main street, but it's surrounded by woods and the place looked really creepy. I was always really skeptical of ghost, and i never really knew if i believed in them or not, but i don't drink or do any drugs so i know this was real. We walked in the back of the school that went straight into the gym, but there was still debre (sp?) everywhere, and it looked so scary. Some of my friends had walked ahead, but me and 4 others stayed in this room to look around. I was too scared to go to far in, so i stayed pretty close to the door. While i was there, i heard what sounded like a bunch of kids playing outside, but i was so preocupied looking around the room i just thought maybe there were kids going for a walk outside or something. It wasn't until i walked outside a few minutes later (from being too scared of the room) that i realized we weren't by any houses or anything that could have had kids, and there were no people outside, and plus it was very late. Too late for there to have that little of kids outside (they sounded like they could have only been in 1-2nd grade. at that point, i realized that the only thing i could have heard were ghost and i became terrified. i went and sat in the car with one of my other friends that heard it, and two others heard it as well. That was probably the most scared i have ever been!!

I have seen exactly 4 in my life and I'm not a bit proud of it. I don't want to see anymore of them. The first one that I saw was when I was eight years old. I saw my grandfather standing in his hallway, two days after his funeral. The second one was at a cemetary. I had to drive by the thing everynight on my way home when I lived in the country. One night after work I was driving through there and happened to look out at the little cemetary and I saw a bright-white cloud thing appear by the fence. Seconds later it seemed to take on a human form. I just floored it and went on! The third and fourth ones were in a house that I had rented a few years back. The first time I seen it, it looked like some kind of little elf-man-thing in the corner of bedroom. It disappeared into the wall. I have been told that it may have actually been what the middle easterners refer to as a "Jen" or "Gen". Next, I was laying in my bed tring to go to sleep one night when I saw something move out of the corner of my eye. I reluctantly looked and saw an old "lady" standing in the hallway outside of my room. Didn't stay in that house for long. Yes, I've seen them. No, I don't want to ever again.

People often get confused between spirits & ghosts. Spirits are people who have died & passed over to the other side, but ghosts are people who are trapped between this life & the other side (heaven). When I was little we used to go and stay at my Granny's cottage in Devon. It was built in the 1500's & was really creepy. I knew it was haunted & used to get really scared when I was upstairs in bed on my own, but I never saw anything as I used to shut my eyes!! However, my parents both saw the same ghost on separate occasions in the downstairs toilet. It was a man dressed in an old fashioned smock. He looked very angry, he was probably wondering what they were doing going to the toilet there (as it's very unlikely that the room was a toilet when he lived there centuries ago). My Dad also saw the ghost of a monk somewhere else, he didn't know it wasn't a real person until he walked through the wall! I think lots of people see ghosts without realising it as they often look so real, they aren't always misty, mysterious figures who appear in creepy places at midnight.

I had an experience in my previous house. I was the only person in at the time and walked into the lounge on an afternoon and noticed a grey/white shimmering light/cloud that had a good foot of clear space between it and the floor and was about 4 foot in height. The room was cold and as soon as I noticed it, 'It' moved in a quick arc and squeezed behind me, I immediately felt freezing cold, my spine and whole body did a spine tingling shiver and it sped away up the stairs.
Previous to this experience I thought it was all nonsense but now I don't quite know. This experience didn't involve drink or drugs or lack of sleep, it was my own genuine experience.
My wife had her own experiences in the house too,'It' would always borrow personal items for a few days but always returned them in the strangest of places! they became less frequent when we got a dog.
We have since sold the house but we didn't tell the new owners!

i work for a council in an old school (5 floors) our canteen is at the top and we have a ghost who moves things in there overnight. I'm a mum with 2 children and say I'm quite a 'normal person' - i'm intrigued too (sometimes scared) when i'm in there geeting a drink and no-one's around. I think you have to open minded about the myth of ghosts, if you believe in them you're more likely to see one in your lifetime. That's what I think anyway. (apparently she used to work there in the 1900's!)

Yes. Where I live is steeped in spooky stuff. There is one place called the "lights", you can go up on a dark night and watch colored lights dancing all over the mountains where the trees are so dense no person could possibly cover that large of an area.

good luck & bless

I was putting my son down for bed and was sitting in my room reading when I heard something through the baby monitor. At first I took it for the baby, but then it sounding like whispering. I walked over to my son's room and as I was walking in, an apparition dissipated. A few seconds of that and I had my son sleeping in my room since.
