Kinda. I am always dissapointed by how ridiculous they are. Yet, by the next year, i'm always worked up and ready to be dissapointed again. I'm sure this year will be no different, in fact, the nominations proved that to me.

Personally, I don't have a lot of interest in ANY of the awards shows. I think it's artificial at best to be comparing films and performances..."best" is purely subjective. What's more, the academy has made so many dubious selections over the years that their judgment is highly suspect, anway.

Having said that...there are GOBS of people who still just absolutely live and die with this stuff. I know some of 'em, and you probably do, too. America has always had a terrible infatuation with "movie stars," and that isn't going away any time soon.

I really enjoy the Academy Awards. I had seen many of the films before they were even nominated, and I get really into it, I am avidly interested in filmmaking and am in a Video and Audio production class. I kind of like to root for favorites to win, and it makes it fun. I watch a lot of movies. I also think that when the host is SWEET like Ellen they are worth watching.

The only movies I see are strictly for entertainment value (like Ghost Rider, The Grudge 2, etc.) so I'm in no danger of "my movies" being nominated for best score or anything like that. In other words, since Titanic I haven't been interested in the Academy Awards.

I care about the Academy Awards. It's the only award show worth watching!

Oh heck no. First the Golden Globes, then the Screen Actors Guild Awards, now the Oscars -- how many opportunities do those Holly-weird idiots need to stroke their egos?

Political correctness has taken over the nominations process and the winners. I don't care who wins and I am not going to watch.

I'm not able to see the ceremony.
I don't have Sky.
I hope Helen Mirren wins 'best actress' for her performance in The Queen, but I don't give a shite about the rest of the categories.

I'm interested in the results, but I don't care about the ceremony and festivities.
