I am interested in getting a prepaid phone, as I just don't use my cell phone enough to make monthly bills worth it. Could you guys help me out with picking the best service/phone? I've heard that tracphone is good, is it?

ya i have tmobile prepay
i think its good
but only if u buy $100 worth of minutes when you get the phone
if u do this, all minutes you buy wont expire for a year and you get more minutes per $ when you buy $10, $25, and $50 worth of minutes
its called gold rewards or something like that....

if you dont buy $100 worth of minutes right away then the minutes you buy eventually add up to $100 and you get the gold rewards

but ya like i said....its best to get the gold rewards right away if you have enough money

I have to disagree with Princess. I have a Tracphone and it works great for my purposes. I rarely use my phone and in most cases I never go over the minutes on their $20 cards with an hour of airtime and 3 months of service. This means I wind up paying about $8 per month for my cell phone! As for your uncle, if it says it comes with $40 of free airtime then that's what he gets. When he uses up the airtime he will need to purchase more.

no i definitely wouldn't suggest tracphone. I was trying to activate one for my niece and there was an error with the activation code and not only did i wait as i was put on hold for 3 hrs but once i finally got through to someone they told me that my code was invalid and that i would have to buy another phone for it to work. So defiantly don't get a tracphone.

everyone has their own opinion, but i have had service with tracfone for 4-5 years with good results. i buy a one year card for less than a hundred bucks which makes my monthly cost less than nine bucks. i have also never found an area in the u.s. without coverage. it even worked on a cruise in puerto rico.

tracphone is junk. go with t-mobile prepay, or go with a local company depending on where you are located at.
