D-Pad = Directional Pad

That's the part on the controller where you can press a direction (up, down, left, right)

The D-Pad refers to the arrows on the controller, like Not the analog sticks, but the up,down, left, and right arrows on the left part of the controller, if its on PS2 the controller will have four button on the left side of the controller, same with Xbox, and Xbox 360, if its a Gamecube, it will be the gray part of the controller.
