it would seem to me that you basically have 2 types of people who claim to be liberal/conservative.. those that just take an overview of what it is, flail that around and claim to be a good conservative/liberal... instead of actually learning and living what it means... I'd call that the easy route.. it takes no deep thought.. and usually comes from those that we'd all not like having represent our party... then you have those that have earned their stances threw introspection and time.. which type of person are you?

First, I'm a centrist, liberal on some issues, conservative on others. I've come a long way to get there. My father was very conservative, but I grew out of that over the years. I try to examine the issues from all angles. I don't accept the talking heads' words for anything.

What we need more than anything are ELECTED OFFICIALS who are willing to take the hard route. Solving the problems with entitlement programs, energy consumption, immigration, and the national debt will be TOUGH, and there is no way to do it without some negative impact on our complacent lives. But nobody wants to really take on any of those issues, or any others, if it's going to cause any pain to any registered voters. This is because the primary goal of all elected officials is to STAY ELECTED, not to solve the nation's problems. None of them are going to take a stand on a tough solution if it means they might get kicked out of office.

It depends on what you mean by the "hard route." I think that when the other side determines to be dedicated to the erradication of anyone with my point of view, it is time to let them have the sandbox.

I'm a firm believer that those with the big mouths need to have to put their money where their mouths are. And so far, I only see liberals interested in putting my money where their mouths are.

Pip, I took the "hard road" with soo little rewards. I'm honestly lost for words from here. My son, God rest his soul, did the same. I don't know your evaluation of "hard" in context of what I know of hard. I do know of dirty, no-accounts that will SUCK the life out of you like hillary backing liberals. The I have my rights to act a fool a-s-sholes that exsist among the both of us. Those so willing to collect but not pat, those so willing to deserve because no ill will to them but to those before them. I refuse the hard road from here and could not care less of those that oppose.
