Well my school is having a dance but my friends and I are planning to go to chinatown instead. My mom doesnt let me go to chinatown though because she doesnt trust me. Should I lie to her?

If you're gonna lie to her and go to Chinatown, then that's gonna prove that she can't trust you, so she won't let you do loads of things afterwards.
Try doing some arrangement with your parents like phoning them every so often or something. Anyway, you can probably go to Chinatown any time but it's not everyday you can go to a dance thing at school.
So maybe you can go to Chinatown another time when you and your parents find it convenient or when they can trust you, or when they're coming with you.

Don't lie. If you do lie and go to Chinatown, you'll have to worry about them finding out. P.S. Is it any wonder why they don't trust you?

It's never a good idea to lie, especially to your parents, it will come back and hunts you.
Besides that china town might not be a good or save place to be, you're parents could not be trusting you for a good reason we don't know. Usually we have to earn our trust plus you don't say how old you are, that too could be at stake.

Please dont lie to your parents. What if something happen to you and she thought you were at a school function? There are some crazy things that go on out in this world and we as parents only try to protect you. Really we aren't trying to ruin your fun. We were once teens too. Don't lie to your parents, they will probably find out anyway-and there goes the trust. Give us reasons to trust you and we will give you more freedom. I don't think that its that your parents dont trust YOU it is that they dont trust other people!

Why doesn't she trust you? Maybe that's a dangerous place? If you lie, you'll just end up in trouble.
...so in a way, I agree wit the first answer. She'll trust you even less if she finds out you were lying.

never lie to your parents about anything, just sit down and talk to them like an adult. they will have to trust you sooner or later right .
