Unless a parent is seriously abusing a child yes. Then the parent should be charged with the crime. But sometimes some kids need a good spanking here and there... like if a small child runs out into traffic or playing around a hot stove for example. Parents have been disciplining kids that way for centuries now they have child protective services and you can't say "boo" to a kid without them barking down your throat... damn ******* :(♥

Totally legal . I've seen children that aren't spanked, they are unpleasant to be around. Spanking, if done right, can teach children the correlation between doing something they're not supposed to do and the consequence of it. It teaches there are reasons for rules. Most rules are there to keep us from getting hurt. For example: When a child constantly tries to play in the street, you can spank them to show that playing in the street could hurt. Learning about cause and effect is a good thing.

by the child's parents?-absolutely no-
parents have every right to spank-(not hit)-their kids
I am 50 years old -during my youth my dad spanked me , my teachers spanked me-with a wooden paddle no less-
every time I was spanked I deserved it-
Now more than ever children need to be disciplined-pain is a real learning experience
made me the man I am today

I think that it is very important to try to talk to the child before hitting them, but fot spanking to be illegal, no. Hell, some kids need it so bad, I'm willing to provide my services free of charge. If you want a good birth control, work at Wal-Mart.

i'm no longer a 'hitter.' Frankly, i will tolerate a 'swat' if a newborn reaches for some thing on a warm range; or reaches right into a fan. despite the fact that...i'm in touch that a lot of questions approximately Y/A are from S&M-kind human beings who 'get off' on bare-backside spankings of their toddlers. that may no longer reliable! Get your important different to consent to a 'bare backside spanking.' in the journey that your important different enjoys it; and additionally you 'get off' on it; then anybody is happy! and additionally you do no longer ought to contain a small newborn on your "exhilaration!" The small newborn will enjoy this, besides!

I think it works but it should be done behind closed doors, never in public. My mom spanked me twice when I was little and that was enough for me - I tried hard not to do anything wrong after that :) There is a time and a place for everything...

NOT spanking children should be a crime

kids need discipline, not grown-up "buddies" for parents.
