I am entering a age where I have began to think about my future. I am Indian and live in the USA. My parents are traditional, but not so much that would make me marry someone I do not want to marry.

But since I am now thinking, which do you think is better and why:
arranged marriage or love marriage?

sometime's i feel arranged is better because two people can fall in love and have a wonderful life, but is that love different than falling in love and then getting married?

I personally prefer to "arrange" my own marriages. The main requirement for me is not even "love", it's compatibility. What good does it do if you're in love, but not compatible? If you find someone you're compatible with, and whos company you enjoy - love will come; but to do so, I believe you have to look yourself, not have someone look for you. It is likely that you will make mistakes and experience setbacks - but these are good life lessons; no one can learn them for you, you really need to try yourself.

I wouldn't want to have an arranged marriage, but I know many people that have that, and I can tell you that its really whats better for you, its whichever one you prefer. I was suppose to have an arranged marriage but I moved to US from Uzbekistan at the age of 15, and since then for the last 10 years still haven't gotten married. My parents don't insist on that anymore, and I do believe that I am happier to have a choice. But if you were raised believing that your marriage would be arranged, its really not a bad thing. Good luck to you, and just make sure that you at least feel attraction to your future husband!

I myself wouldn't want one , but my grandparents marriage was arranged when she was 4yrs old , she didn't meet my grandfather till she arrived in the US from Sicily when she was around 16 and they had a happy life married almost 50yrs , after my grandfather died she wed his brother whos wife had passed away and they had 8 happy years
would it work for you , depends on you and who ever is selected for you
best of luck but don't rush into it or be forced to marry someone you don't like

no! i bet alot of people that have had arranged marriages say they love their partner after so long because they're just familiar with them. you might think you love someone just because you're use to them. i think you should marry someone you love, not someone you might or might not love in a few years
