Yes it is illegal to threaten anyone. If the incident is occuring at school then I would first go to the school if that doesnt work which it rarely does you could call the police and they would be able to assist you with what charges you could file. It does vary per state. I am in my Bachelors of Criminal Justice and we just finished studying juvenile offenses so as I have read others comments let me once again say "it is illegal" to threaten anyone period. Now to what extent your police dept is willing to do about this is another story but in some situations just an officer talking to the other youth may diffuse it. But because of the violence from school shootings and such the threat of any violence by youths is taken very serious. One more suggestion is to talk to an officer that is assigned to his school or neighborhood they might be able to handle it more effectively.

It is illegal. If you have proof, such as a written or audio recording of the threat you can call the police. You can call the police even without the proof. If you think it is a serious threat and are afraid of the person being injured you should call the police.

nah its not illegal, but it is frowned upon by police and will go against u in court if u threaten some1. if u no the person who is threatening the kid is dangerous like packing, or has a knife or something then tell the police as its illegal to carry a weapon and to threaten with a weapon. otherwise i dont think the police would really care about threats unless he proved to be dangerous i.e. have a weapon. just make sure the kid is with some1 wen hes out so he doesnt get kicked in.
ive been assuming the 13 yr old is being threatened by another child, but if the "threatener" is over 18 he could get in trouble for threatening a minor i suppose..

Yes. All threats are considered illegal. Contact the local police department, but don't call 911, call the local non-emergency number.

If the threatener is a child, simply tell his school and parents. If the person is an adult, it is definately illegal. Believe it or not, its actually considered a "terrorist threat".

I'm sure threats are illegal in all states. If it's happening at school, tell your teacher, school counselor, or principal.
If it's happening outside of school, tell your parents and ask them to get the law involved.

It would probably be a misdemeanor assault, but a couple of hours sitting down at the jail might straighten the little bastard up.
I'd call the cops.

It is called "Assault"

If the person actually uses physical force it is called "Assault and Battery"

And yep it is illegal. Tell you parent, teacher, or cop. But tell someone.

Just tell the bully's parents. Is the threatener grown or not? Just tell someone grown.
