1. Must be able to give constructive criticism in a very politically correct manner because God forbid that we tell the lazy, sorry, employee who is costing the company money what a screw up he/she is.
2. Smile sweetly while for the 100th time explaining to the lazy, sorry employee that their job actually requires them to be on time, only take the allotted lunch hour, and yes, they have to actually stay all the way up until the end of their shift.
You know, there can be 50 great employees that you will have to neglect because of the one that can't get anything right. Good luck with your management position. Invest in a good hair color you will gray quickly.

I'm assuming you mean a "good" manager. he is totally commited to providing the best product and product support for his customers; the best working conditions and evironment for his staff; and the maximum return on the dollar for his boss. He handles adversity quickly , decisively and effectively and continously looks for ways to improve his operation.
