why does everyone have something against internet dating ? i mean i've heard all these people say it sucks i hear all these other people saying it doesn't, why does it cause such issues between people and friends?????????????

I don't know, i know my family does they think it's stupid! I don't, because i have a secret...i really really really like my best friend over the internet!! I've known him over the internet for almost 6 months, he's sooo awesome!! I really want to go with him, but i have a boyfriend in real life!! But i know that some stuff will go wrong if i do...cause like you said lots of people have problems with internet dating..i know it can be dangerous, but i still don't think it's such a bad thing! Don't you agree???

The fear of Internet dating safety is really misguided, but there are dangers. The one story in 10 million where someone gets raped is really not a fault of the Internet as there will always be freaks out there. Be sensible and meet in a public place first. The real danger is HIV and STDs, because Internet daters can have many partners at once pretty easily. It's basically impossible to tell who is infected and even the premium sites don't address the issue. There is one service called checktonight.com that makes sure people have been tested. It makes sense because even "nice" people have STDs and most don't even know they have something.

I believe it has to do with,that, anyone can say whatever and most of them are not telling the truth. It is hard to know what's what , unless you are looking at them , EYE to EYE.
The Soul is in the Eyes, they speak. Body Language is very powerfull, for the most , if you pay attention, it will say more than the mouth.
The ones that think Internet dating is good, just got LUCKY, the % of getting lucky is very low.

because they are hiding behind this screen... you have no idea who they really are.. only what they tell you..they lie about age, sex and their looks,being married or already in a relationship...most men are only after sex, why risk your life? do u ever watch the news..men lure girls to their hometown also some men go on their dates with duct tape rope beer condoms... NOT QUALITY people.. if ur looking for a long term relationship.. meet someone in your hometown, know his family and friends.... most men lie on the internet.. please be careful...

I think it's more risky. When you date someone that you've actually met and /or know....it's safer. You never actually know what you're getting on the internet,until you meet them, and then it's too late. They already know things about you that you wouldn't have shared with them, had you met them first.

If I'm dating I want my date to pick me up or me pick him up. I want to do things with him other than typing keys together. I want to know for sure that he is real and not some prankster and I want to be able to LOOK into his eyes and count the lies and not be fooled by cyberspace.

Very easy qustion...
Well most o fthe time the guys wanna rhape you or abuse and alsult you most of the time. if you meet them which wont be smart they might end up hurting you or even killing you ect. (they are really messed up). thats why if it wasnt safe why would they always tell you not too?BTW for all you know it might be the oppiste sex

I think people are just uncomfortable because its new but I think its a great way of looking at many different candidates.
