I do a lot of traveling by myself, both for business and otherwise. If anything, I think Disney is one of the best places to go by yourself. If you are feeling lonely, there is so many things that can cheer you up.
Disney is a blast, alone or with someone else. Of course, any time you can do something with friends and/or family you may have a better time. But, that isn't to say you won't have a good time on your own.
If it were me, I would not want to miss out on my vacation just because I had to go alone.
Think of some of the positives:
There is no one to argue with
You are the only person you have to please
You get to do whatever you want
Things will cost less
You may get on a ride faster when they look for single riders
I say go for it, I would never stay home because I had to go alone. Disney, Universal, Orlando, they are all fun by yourself or with someone else.
Just be sure to be careful and don't do anything that could end up badly.
I hope you decide to go and have a great time!

You would have a great time if you are not a shy person. I use to do it and what I recommend is going to Biergarten buffet in Germany at Epcot the first night you are there because than you'll be at a table with like 8other people (kinda like cruise ship dining) and that way you can meet people who are there to have a good time and maybe make some friends. Another option might be to go on Disney Cruise. It's a bit more "normal" for people to travel alone on cruises.

This is one case where I really don't think you could have a good time...amusement/theme parks are just no fun by yourself (and quite honestly, I disliked Disney even with a group of people...Universal was okay though). This is not to say it's not possible to have a good time on vacation by yourself. I vacationed by myself in Florida last year at this time - of course, I'm a huge baseball fan with friends that play so went to a lot of spring training games.

It is very possible to have a good time. There are a few clubs in downtown disney you could go to(if over 21). I heard Citywalk at Universal is good. Plus, you have the advantage in getting on rides ocassionally because you'll be a single rider. Enjoy it, I did.

I just did this last fall. My annual passes were about to expire and I was the only one who had vacation time. I had annual passes to Sea World, Universal and Disney. It's a long story of how I ended up with all these annual passes but I ended up making 2006 a tour of the theme parks.
There is no doubt I missed having family and friends with me to share the fun of the parks. If this is your first time there, I would wait until you can go with your family and friends. It is more expensive to go by yourself. You will bear the total cost of the rooms and transportation so you will need to check your finances carefully.
That being said, I had a truly wonderful time going solo. I got to stay at the exhibits at Sea World as long as I wanted. I felt no pressure to hurry along. I went on all the rides I wanted to. I rode Kraken 3 times in a row, Atlantis a couple of times. At Universal, I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel and got to go to the front of the line. I ended up going on Spiderman about 6 times, the mummy at least 12 times (the loader wondered if I actually exited the ride lol). At Disney I rode test track about 12 times in a row (the cast members thought it was funny - I was the only person in the single rider line so I was THE single rider. They let me push the doors of the pre-show open so I didn't have to wait), Everest Ex. about 8 times (sat in front 3 times, sat in back twice and sat in random seats the rest of the time). Sat next to the same couple 3 times at the Tower of Terror :).Ate at the restaurants I wanted to eat in. It was food and wine festival at Epcot! (great time there).
I got to experience the theme parks like I wanted to. There were no kids, no deadlines. There was no standing in a huddle and deciding what attraction we should do next. I didn't have to wait for people to buy souvenirs.
If you have experienced the parks before, don't hesitate to go solo. I met a number of people who were also solo. There are more of them than you think. You just don't notice them when you are in a group.
So, if you got the time and the money and truly enjoy theme parks - I say go and have a great time.

Well, nothing is ever has fun as dragging someone along for the ride. Do you have any siblings that you could take? Or anyone else? I suggest if you can find someone that go with you, take that person. Otherwise, don't go and replan it for some other time when your friends are free. Besides, going alone is dangerous.

Yes, you can still have a good time by yourself, I have went twice down to Florida alone and still had a great time. Just use common sense when your down there, because even if you are at the happiest place on earth you still run into fruit loops.

I went alone to Universal Studios LA and had a great time. I am sure you will have a great time by yourself. Go for it. Just be very very careful.

I would wait and go with friends or family. Be patient maybe someone will come into your life and just love to take you there. It's a really neat place for a Honeymoon too.
