Why did so few female Grammy attendees wear necklaces?

Almost no one wore necklaces to the event! Check the photos. Are they boycotting jewelers? Or are necklaces just out of fashion?

The look this year is less jewelry, every year it changes so don't be alarmed. As it may be a good thing because some of them overdue it when jewelry is the fashion. The look is quieter and more reserved. Where as with jewelry it is considered louder and more flashy.
