My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about 5 months now with no sucess. I went off the the Nuva ring back in Aug of 2005. I have been having fairly normal periods since then, but my husband and I are having no luck conceiving. Anyone have anything like this happen? I should probably also add that I have Crohn's disease which affects mainly my digestive system(it hasn't been very active lately though) but I was told it shouldn't really affect us trying to conceive.

I also forgot to add that I had no trouble conceiving my first 2 children. My second was conceived only 2 months after going off of birth control.

I used Nuvaring for about a year and a half (had been using the pill before for a few years) stopped using ring in October and got pregnant in November no problem. (didn't expect it to happen so quickly!)
As with any hormonal birth control, especially after prolonged use, it can take a while for your own hormones to "level out" and your cycles to regulate, making conception a little difficult for some. If your cycles are regular and you are still having difficulty after 6 months (maybe even a year) maybe you should check with your Doctor just to be sure everything's ok.

...There's definitely something to be said about the negative power of stress on ability to conceive...so RELAX and have FUN trying!
Good Luck!

I had no problem getting pregnant after using the ring. In fact, I took it out for a few days in order to avoid having my period during my wedding/honeymoon, and I ended up getting pregnant during that time. Has your hubby been tested? Maybe you're not getting pregnant because of him?
