I thought it was an arrow crab but I'm really not sure now. It looks like a stick plant, but it is an invert of some sort. It moves real slow, and it stands up like a preying mantis, instead of crouched down like an arrow crab. I have seen then 3" tall and 8" tall. What is this thing? I really want one, but dont know what it is? Thanks for your help.

Are you sure it wasn't a pipe fish? Some look almost like black sticks. ( I would not recomend this fish for a newbee of salt. They are very difficult to care for)

You do realize arrow crabs eat clams, parts of coral and starfish correct? It could have been a type of arrow crab as well.

I would ask the pet store where you saw it. Was it in a tank with anything else?

Arrow crabs look like a stick.
They move real slow.
They stand up like a preying mantis.
And they can grow about 8 inches tall.

Looks like an arrow crab to me.
